POLICE have charged four teenagers with offences connected to a street attack which left two men with serious head injuries in Teesside, in the early hours of Sunday.
One of the injured men, aged 33, is reported to be poorly but stable at The James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough. The other victim, 25, was discharged following treatment.
The men were attacked in Borough Road, Middlesbrough, opposite the Teesside House block of student flats, at about 3.45am on Sunday.
Three males aged 18 and one aged 19, all from the Middlesbrough area, have been charged with GBH with intent and will appear before Teesside magistrates tomorrow. Two of the men have also been charged with criminal damage.
Police are particularly keen to speak to the occupants of a black five-door saloon car which was seen driving towards Albert Road, before dropping a passenger off and performing a U-turn.
Officers believe the people in the car may have witnessed the assault.
Any witnesses are asked to ring Cleveland Police on 01642-326326.
