It’s cup final time in the Northern Rock NEPL as last week’s abandoned Banks Salver Final is reconvened at Ropery Lane tomorrow with a midday start.
Both Chester-le- Street and Durham Academy expect to be at full strength.
Before that clubs take part in their last league programme today with a few issues still in the balance, but the most intriguing game takes place at Denton Bank, where season-long strugglers Benwell Hill and Newcastle lock horns to decide who will finish bottom.
Back in April neither side could have predicted the problems that have beset them but at least, barring a DSL miracle, the team that ends up with the wooden spoon should not have to fear relegation.
