Middlesbrough midfielder Mohammed Shawky has suffered an injury that ruled him out of Egypt’s World Cup qualifier and he is likely to be out of Premier League action for two-three weeks.
Shawky was forced to withdraw from the squad for the game in Kinshasa,against DR Congo,that Egypt won 2-1, after picking up a groin problem.
The Egypt international has featured in all four of Boro’s games this term and has impressed manager Gareth Southgate.
And the Boro boss will be hoping other members of his squad currently on international duty return to The Riverside with a clean bill of health as they look to continue a strong start to the season.
