A NEW scheme which gives council and housing association tenants more choice on where they live will be explained at three events in Teesdale.
Choice-based Lettings means there will be more scope for people to decide where in the county they want to live. The scheme will start at the beginning of April, to coincide with the launch of the new unitary council for County Durham.
Existing tenants have already received a range of information and newsletters regarding the changes to the existing system. Consultation events will take place at the Randolph Centre in Evenwood tomorrow (10.30am-noon), at the Witham Hall in Barnard Castle on Wednesday, December 3 (10.30am until 1pm) and at the Utass centre in Middleton-in-Teesdale on Thursday, December 4, from 10am until noon.
To find out more contact Lorraine Walkden at Teesdale District Council on 01833-696328.
