TWO friends are organising a charity ball in aid of a national animal charity.

Tori Sowden and Cheryl Robinson will host the black and white ball at Headlam Hall Hotel, near Gainford, County Durham, on Friday October 10.

Money raised from ticket sales and a raffle will be donated to The Dog's Trust which both say is a charity close their hearts.

Pharmacist Cheryl, 32, from Headlam village, and car sales administrator Tori, also 32, from Sedgefield, hope the ball will be a glamorous and fun evening in aid of a charity they feel is often overlooked despite its good work.

Oakley Mitsubishi, in West Auckland, has donated a spa day for two at Headlam Hall and the hotel has offered dinner, bed and breakfast for two as raffle prizes.

Tickets are £38 per head and includes a reception drink and three course meal followed by dancing. The dress code is black tie.

For tickets or to donate a raffle prize call 01388-830975.
