Awards dinner honours sporting volunteers

OUTSTANDING sports coaches and club volunteers will be recognised at an annual awards dinner.
County Durham Sport holds the event every year and Sedgefield Borough Council is looking for nominations to put forward.
The awards help recognise a wide range of achievement across the sporting spectrum and nominations are open to juniors and adults.
Categories in each age are divided into coach of the year, volunteer coach of the year and volunteer and sports club of the year.
Winners will go through to the awards dinner on Friday, October 10, at Locomotion: The National Railway Museum in Shildon.
The closing date for Sedgefield applications is 29 August.
