Company launches new service

A SOCIAL work company has launched a handyman service to ease some of the everyday worries of people in the region.
The Cares Group, which is based at Byers Green, near Spennymoor, has recruited a team of tradesmen to carry out repair and maintenance jobs.
The new Handy Care service is aimed at homeowners and businesses, particularly the old and vulnerable, that need help to complete jobs in homes and offices.
Tasks could include furniture assembly, fitting blinds, hanging pictures, household repairs and cleaning.
Dave Cassie, the owner of the company, said: "These are the kind of little jobs that many people find so difficult to sort.
"Not only are our tradesmen prepared to do these jobs, but they are police-checked and we will give clients a time when they will turn out to within an hour."
