ACTOR Tom Graham has proved his sausage-cooking prowess is not merely the stuff of fiction.

As Tom Archer in the long-running Radio Four soap The Archers his banger business is the subject of recurring storylines.

And he showed he was pretty nifty with a frying pan in real life when Thirsk-based sausage company Debbie and Andrew’s invited him to their stand at the BBC Good Food Show in Birmingham.

Owners Debbie and Andrew Keeble invited Tom to a live cook-off to demonstrate his support for their campaign for a fair price for pig farmers.

And the actor cooked up a real sizzler and impressed the crowds with his sausage-making prowess.

Much like the character Tom Archer in the programme, Debbie and Andrew Keeble are themselves ex-farmers turned food producers who are passionate about animal welfare and good quality meat.

And their story is so similar to that of Tom Archer that they will now be giving Tom some hints and tips for future story lines.
