A TEENAGER celebrated her birthday with a skydive for charity.
Rachel McAndrew wanted to do something special for her 18th birthday so she decided to jump out of a plane to help the Great North Air Ambulance.
She went down to Lincoln and did the tandem jump with an instructor form Target Sky Sports and raised £320 in sponsorship.
"I thought it would be quite a good thing to do really. I saw the TV series on the charity. I have always supported it but in the series it said they really needed the funds and support so I thought I would bring more publicity to it."
Miss McAndrew raised the funds through sponsorship from her family and friends and teachers at Northallerton College, where she studies business and IT A'Levels.
"It's my first one," she said. "It was amazing. I really want to do it again actually. I wasn't really nervous."
After her skydive she went clay pigeon shooting then went out for a meal with her mum and dad to celebrate.
