A1 death crash: Man charged

POLICE have charged a 23-year-old man from Chester-le-Street in connection with the death of a motorist following a police pursuit.

William Forrest, 52, from Newcastle, died when a Mitsubishi 4x4 being pursued by police crashed through the central reservation into the path of his car.

Detectives arrested a 23-year-old man on Saturday and charged him on Sunday evening with causing death by dangerous driving and burglary.

The man, of no fixed abode, has not been named. He is due to appear at Consett Magistrates tomorrow. See news for the latest on this story.

hopefully the courts will make an example of this thieving piece of s**t and give him the maximum sentence available rather than a two year driving ban and two to five years in a holiday camp.
