Local punk outfit Point Blanc have announced their final gig headlining the Independent, Sunderland on the 14th of April.

Having took the Northeast music scene by storm following their debut 2020 EP release 'Save Us', the young band have become pioneers for a new wave of talented musicians.

Their journey across multiple venues in Sunderland, Newcastle and Stockton brought a energetic and recognisable sound that has seen them take up headliners and festival slots. Their recent album 'Cowpox' encapsulates their raw passion for music, which has guided them to the forefront of the Northeast music scene, and this announcement is sure to be a disappointment for a large group of loyal listeners.

However, speaking to Lorenzo Corsi (guitarist of Point Blanc), this shouldn't be a down-beat occasion:

"We are so thankful for everyone who has supported our journey, and we want as many of you as possible to come down and celebrate what we have built."

Although separated by a fast-moving period of their lives, with university or future plans beckoning, you can't deny that what Point Blanc have built is special. From local bars and Christmas fairs, to sold out headliners in the areas most prominent venues, their journey has been quite spectacular.

"It was tough at the start, but we took every opportunity that came our way, and in the end, it was all really rewarding."

"My favourite memory with the band has to be one of our earlier gigs at the Independent's 'Brand New Club', where we all expected it to be quiet, but we blew away expectations: the tables were moved and the crowd's energy was amazing - it was the largest audience we had played to at that point, and it was that moment when I realised that being on stage was the best feeling ever."

Even though Point Blanc is coming to an end, they hope that this gig can be the perfect send off, with a performance that is sure to raise the roof.
