POLICE have arrested three teenagers after a ten-year-old boy was stabbed in the neck with a syringe.

The youngster needed hospital treatment after he was attacked in Victoria Road East, Hebburn, on Monday evening.

He was playing with friends when the group were chased by older boys.

The victim was cornered and attacked with a small syringe.

He now faces months of inoculations and blood tests to see if the needle was infected.

A police spokesman said two boys aged 15 and a 14-year-old were arrested on suspicion of assault and bailed pending further inquiries.
